Little Moons have seen a meteoric rise to the top of the frozen snacking category growing from £10m t/o to £65m t/o in less than 3 years. Chasm have been a key pillar of support through that growth.
We were initially engaged to help install a WMS to help get better control of stocks across the business though an ERP upgrade was needed to support the WMS. Undertaking a change from Sage 50 to Sage 200 and the transition to a cloud based solution in a fast moving business was no mean feat.
Master data in Little Moons was severely lacking, the business had grown from a handful of people working in Excel spreadsheets & e-mail to a much larger demographically spread team across all departments. Aligning Product codes, units of measure, Bills of Materials, stock locations, customer & supplier databases in the ERP as well as building transactional and operational disciplines that were previously not used.
We then set about building a planning & scheduling solution to convert the commercial demand into efficient schedules for the factory, then linking this to a purpose built MRP solution for material supply.
As Little Moons went through expansion taking on additional retailers and stockists the installation of an EDI platform linked to the Sage system was managed alongside Sy Cadegim UK for retail orders and invoicing as well as connection to 3PL for inter-stock movements and delivery notes.
Operationally we provided the manpower and support to transition for a 5 day single shift to 16/7 operation, growing factory output by a factor of 8. Building the skills and competencies of the new workforce and the management structure to support the operation.
Then there was the usual operational project to ‘deliver the day’ efficiently with a robust Management Control System and data capture for dashboard reporting and trend analysis for CI.
Support for rolling the system and processes to a new site is still ongoing, 2.5 years later and the relationship continues.
